The Patient Care Assistant program is designed to prepare students for employment as:
- Patient Care Assistants
- Nursing Aides and Orderlies
- Home Health Aides
This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills, expanding the traditional role of the Nursing Assistant for both hospital and long term care. The course content includes, but is not limited to:
- Personal Patient Care Skills
- Principles of Infection Control
- Home Health Care Services
- Physical and Safety Functions

Entrance Requirements:
- Attend a Medical Technology Orientation (by appointment only).
- Complete FAFSA application online, if needed, and contact the Financial Aid Department at (754) 321-5738.
- Register for the next available Patient Care Assistant course.
Total Program Length: 290 Hours/ 2 months
Program Schedule:
Days: Monday through Friday - 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
Nights: Monday through Thursday - 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Industry Certifications Available:
Students who successfully complete the Patient Care Assistant program are eligible to take the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant Exam.
