WELDING TECHNOLOGY (VA)
Become part of Welding Technology by developing your ability in welding basics:
- Cutting and joining metals
- Blueprint reading, and
- Preparation of layouts
The Welding Technology Program offers students the opportunity to become skilled welders and welder helpers by providing instruction in the basics welding, with equal emphasis on theory and hands-on experiences.
By advancing through a series of processes, students learn:
- To use gas or electricity
- To cut or join metal parts
- Blueprint reading, and
- Preparations and layouts
Welding Technology students may enroll in this program at the beginning of each quarter, and must satisfy minimum academic requirements in reading, mathematics, and language prior to completion.
Industry Credentials
Graduates of the Welding Technology Program are eligible to take the American Welding Society (AWS) certification examinations administered by the instructor. Fees for the AWS examinations vary.
