MARINE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY (VA)
Join the ranks of South Florida's marine
mechanics industry once you develop the necessary skills to:
- Diagnose
- Overhaul and
- Repair Marine Systems and their components
The curricumum includes:
- Electrical Theory as it pertains to ABYC and NMEA standards
- Electronics Installation and Repairs:
- Radar
- Sonar
- GPS
- Depth Finders and
- Communications Systems
This is a 12 month program (in a blended format combining classroom and online instruction) to include:
- Mechanical Theory
- Class Lectures
- Demonstrations
- Visual Aids and
- Hands-on shop activities
Students will be taken through marine sub-systems:
- Operation
- Diagnosis and
- Repair
Industry Credentials
Graduates of the Marine Service Technology program are eligible to take the certification exams for:
- Mercury Certificate
- ABYC Electrician
- Bombardier (John & Evinrude) Certificate
