
Automotive Service Technology:
The McFatter School of Automotive Service Technology exists to prepare participants for careers in the exciting world of automotive repair. Our students study with highly qualified instructors in a state-of-the-art facility while they prepare for the increasingly technical field of Automotive Service Technology.
Our NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) certified programs will prepare participants for an exciting career in the ever changing world of Automotive Service Technology. Our specialized classes can also help experienced professionals in the field refine and "tune-up" their skills.
Automotive Service courses consist of:
AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY (VA NATEF Certified)
· Students will acquire the technical background necessary to diagnose, overhaul and repair automobile systems and their components. This entry-level class gives students a proper foundation for all automotive service and engine repair. Participants will learn basic principles pertaining to safely repairing an automobile.
Subjects taught in the Automotive Service Technology program include:
· A/C and Heat
· Brakes
· Engine Overhaul
· Engine Performance
· Automatic Transmissions
· Manual Transmissions and Drive-train
· Steering and Suspension
· Electrical
The Automotive Service Technology program takes just over a year to complete, full time. Upon completion, students will receive a state of Florida Adult Certificate of completion. Graduate students will either move on to employment in the field or may continue their education toward an Associate's degree in Automotive Service Technology at one of the local colleges.
